I recently returned from a visit to Seattle, where we were checking out the site of a future conference. One of the highlights of the visit was getting to view the Seattle skyline from the water and a visit to the famous Farmer’s Market. The colors at the market were an intense contrast to Seattle’s … More Photo Friday ‘Seattle Skyline and Market’ April 18, 2014
A couple years ago, we visited the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. This long panorama is at a nearly impossible aspect ratio to ever print, but I still enjoy the sense of size and scale this picture provides.
In our June, 2013 trip to Ireland, I was amazed by the plants growing absolutely everywhere. Look below to see what I mean…. This picture was taken on one of the streets of South Dublin in late June. This is a picture of barrels of bourbon aging at the Maker’s Mark distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. As beautiful as the building, timbers and oak barrels were, the smell was even more amazing. If you ever get a chance to visit a distillery like this, do it!
I have posted so many pictures of places I visit, I sometimes forget that I have some really nice photos of my home area too. This is a photo of a field in Nebraska after some of the crop residue had been baled for livestock feed. I really like how the low light angle created … More Photo Friday February 22, 2013 “Nebraska Field”
On a trip to visit my sister, we went through Badlands National Park in South Dakota. This group of Bighorn sheep was grazing in the valley below. They did not seem afraid of people, but the ram did not relax and graze until we drove away.
I was organizing some photos from a vacation last August and this one caught my eye after being ignored the first few times through the pile. It was taken at the foot of the Sawyer Glacier in southeast Alaska. The original version of the photo was much flatter with the whites decidedly skewed toward blue … More Photo Friday February 8, 2013 “Seal and Glacier”
