We recently returned from a quick family trip up north to Manitoba. My middle son was enchanted by this field of canola and how small it made the grain bin look. I loved the bright yellow flowers and their contrast with the blue sky.
I bought some new HDR software and wanted to try it out. While visiting the beautiful campus of the University of Arkansas, I took this shot of “Old Main”. While I am not 100% in love with the ‘fake’ appearance that turned out in this one, I do love the drama it adds. What do … More “Old Main, University of Arkansas” Photo Friday July 11, 2014
Because the Internet does not have nearly enough cats. Looks like we might need to transplant this one soon. Mom! He’s touching me!!
I recently returned from a visit to Seattle, where we were checking out the site of a future conference. One of the highlights of the visit was getting to view the Seattle skyline from the water and a visit to the famous Farmer’s Market. It was nice to pick … More “Flyover” Photo Friday Nov 15, 2013
Our photo Friday subject today is a list of rules I found hanging on the back of my seven year old son’s room door. I had no idea he did these until I went into his room. He usually announces everything and has to show me his artwork, but must have decided that this was … More The Rules, Written By a Seven Year Old
A few photos from our recent family trip to Ireland. This first one is a display of Viking-era swords at the national history/archaeological museum in Dublin. One of the things that made Ireland so amazing for me was the sense of age and history in everything, especially compared to Nebraska, where something 100 years old … More “Irish Scenery” Photo Friday July 19, 2013
You may have noticed a weather-related tilt to my recent posts. I guess that the changing of the seasons here in Nebraska along with the extremes we have seen mean that I am paying especially close attention to Mother Nature. Now that she has finally kicked Old Man Winter out of the state, we got … More Photo Friday May 17, 2013 “Storm Front”
